There is a $100 one-time non-refundable fee per rental property or unit to utilize the Landlord Program. This is a 2-part program. The landlord can choose to participate in one or the other, or both, parts.
Part 1 allows a landlord to auto-transfer their property back into their name when a tenant requests disconnection of electricity.
Part 2 is available if a landlord utilizes our Third-party Notification form with their tenant. The landlord will receive one notification from the REMC if the rental property is scheduled for disconnection of electricity due to non-payment by the tenant. Many of our landlords like the peace of mind of knowing that the pipes won’t freeze if a tenant isn’t paying their electric bill.
